Our Residents are Always Talking About Us!
If you really want to know what it's like to be part of our family, ask our residents and their families. They often express their feelings about the work we are doing. Here are some examples:
My mother has been at Casa de Palomas since September 1998. Over the years the staff at Casa de Palomas has provided excellent care, nutritious meals, and loving kindness in caring for my mother. As her abilities have decreased noticeably over time, the staff has always done what it takes to make sure my mother is clean, socially connected with other residents, and never ignored. It is an exceptional facility with fantastic personnel and I would highly recommend it.
Back in 1995 my mom was diagnosed with dementia. After living with my wife and I for 6 months, we decided that mom needed to live in a place that has activities and a full time staff that could look after her. My wife researched several assisted living homes and we let mom choose from the best three. She has lived here ever since and everything about her has improved. Shawn and April are wonderful caregivers and their staff here at Casa de Palomas is very caring and professional. We strongly recommend Casa as a place for your loved ones to live their lives to the fullest under loving care.

I can testify to the great spirit found in Casa de la Reina. A member of my church, aged 92, reached a level of happiness and contentment that she had not had for a long time by residing in this home. She got good individualized attention, her medications were handled properly, and the staff was always patient and helpful with her. Finding the Casa was a great blessing for her, and everyone involved in her care has been delighted with the progress that she made and the level of peace that she achieved. I am happy to recommend Casa to anyone looking for a safe, secure, and cheerful place for their loved ones.

When we first went to see Casa de Palomas I was impressed by the sunny rooms and the homelike atmosphere. The staff was very caring and seemed to be concerned with my mother's comfort...I felt that my mother was going to be looked after and not neglected...Her time at Casa de Palomas was a very good experience and I have recommended it to others.
The level of personal and loving care my mother received during her three year stay at Casa de la Reina was superb! Mom passed away last year but I will always be thankful for the excellent treatment she enjoyed there.
Casa de la Reina has been a blessing. The staff has been a great help to our mother. They took her in when she was in need of some extra care and helped her get well. She is now back to her old self and happier than she's been in a long time. She enjoys playing cards with the other residents, but she can also retreat to her private room for some peace and quiet, as well as to watch her favorite TV shows. The house, located in a great, quiet neighborhood in the NE Heights, has a wonderful backyard and a garden, which all of the residents appreciate. We are very grateful to have found Casa de la Reina.

There are not words to thank you for the caring and beautiful home you have given our mother over the past five years. She is now ninety, and there are increasing health problems requiring special care, for which your caregivers are trained and which they generously provide. Mom is mentally alert and so happy and appreciative to be part of the Casa de la Reina family. We as her family are doubly appreciative of the light, airy rooms, the activities, and the personal care and attention to dress and grooming that the caregivers give to every resident. Casa de la Reina and its staff have made our mother's life, and those of her family members, so very comfortable in this stage of our time together.
My mother was in the Palomas home for approximately six months (and) I visited almost every day during that time. (I) always found the house extremely clean, the meals very nourishing and well prepared...All the staff was very friendly and helpful and open to suggestions regarding any care issues.
Later I was the court appointed Guardian for an 89 year old friend who had no family (and) I placed her in the Casa de la Reina home which had just opened. This is a lovely home and the closest you could get to being really "at home" but with assistance.
I would not hesitate to place any of my family members in either of the homes operated by Shawn Snelling.
