WebAbstract. The study investigated the "hundred languages of Deaf children" (Malaguzzi, 1993) in two schools using the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education, which originated in Italy. One principle of this approach, "the hundred languages of children," supports young children in expressing their ideas and thoughts in different ways. WebThe 100 Languages are a metaphor for the extraordinary potentials of children. The Reggio Emilia Approach emphasizes hands-on discovery learning that allows the child to use all their senses and all their languages to learn. We believe that children use many different ways to show their understanding and express their thoughts and creativity.
